Step Back in Time

Enjoy the Band Organ Rally at the Farmers’ Museum

August 23 and 24, 10am-5pm

Can’t get enough of the happiest music on Earth? Then come to the Band Organ Rally (Carousel Organ Association of America Rally). The rally features a dozen large band organs. You will hear the sounds of an entire band played mechanically by organs made by Gavioli, Ruth & Sohn, Stinson, and Wurlitzer. Members of the Carousel Organ Association of America will bring these remarkable machines from all over the eastern United States.

You will also hear many strolling hand-cranked grinder organs throughout the museum’s historic village. Holding its own, the Mighty, Majestic, Military Band Organ of the Empire State, which makes its home at the museum, will give regular concerts in the Carousel Pavilion.

Admission to all Step Back in Time weekends is included with regular museum admission. Members of the New York State Historical Association enjoy free admission. Click Here for more information!

Hall of Fame Classic/BASE Race – May 23-25

The Museum will honor baseball legends of past and present with the Sixth Annual Hall of Fame Classic, presented by Ford Motor Company, on Saturday, May 24. The Legends Game at Doubleday Field will feature Hall of Fame legends and stars of earlier eras, complete with a Main Street Parade, the Second Annual “Night at the Museum,” a Youth Skills Clinic, as well as the new date for the Museum’s “Be A Superior Example” (BASE) Race, promoting healthy living. A golf fundraiser with Hall of Fame legends also highlights Classic Weekend 2014. For the second consecutive year, the Classic will be held over Memorial Day Weekend to honor baseball’s long-standing connection with the Armed Services.
